HOMEI am Alireza Gharib, an international volleyball referee from Iran, with over 30 years of experience in officiating at national and international levels.
My refereeing journey began in 1994 with the National Grade 3 certification. In 2010, I attended the FIVB International Referees Course in Romania and was nominated as a Candidate Referee. In 2012, I achieved my full FIVB International Referee status during the Asian Junior Championship.
Since then, I have had the honor of officiating in numerous prestigious events, including:
2015 – First international assignment: Asian Club Championship in Taiwan with Pikan Club
2017 – Asian Club Championship in Vietnam with Bank Sarmayeh
2019 – FISU World University Games in Naples, Italy
2019 – Selected as reserve referee for FIVB Volleyball Nations League in Iran
2021 – FIVB Women's World Championship in Belgium
2021 – Boys’ U19 World Championship in Iran – officiated the final match
2022 – FIVB Challenger Cup in South Korea – officiated the final between Korea and Cuba
2023 – FIVB Volleyball Nations League in Thailand – officiated 4 matches
2023 – FIVB U21 World Championship in Bahrain – officiated the semifinal (Italy vs. Brazil)
2023 – FIVB Challenger Cup in Qatar
2023 – Asian Games in Hangzhou, China – officiated Women’s Final and Men’s 3rd place match
2022 & 2024 – Asian Club Championships in Iran – officiated 3rd place matches
2025 – FIVB Volleyball Nations League Week 3 (Men & Women) in Japan
Currently, I serve as the Head of the Refereeing Commission of the Iranian Volleyball Federation and the Chairman of Tehran Volleyball Referees Committee.
